Biography
Dr. Dimitrios Karakitsos is an Associate Professor in Medicine (University of South Carolina, School of Medicine) and an Adjunct Associate Professor in Critical Care (Keck Medical School, University of Southern California). He is an international, well-published expert and researcher in critical care ultrasound and crisis resource management in trauma. Currently, he is also affiliated to the Trauma Center of King Saud Medical City (KSMC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Biography
Leslie S. Zun, M.D., M.B.A. is the System Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine in the Sinai Health System in Chicago, Illinois and Chairman & Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine and a secondary appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Illinois. His background includes a medical degree (M.D.) from Rush Medical College and a business degree (M.B.A.) from Northwestern University's JL Kellogg School of Management. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Zun was a chief operating officer and acting chief executive officer for a 200 bed hospital in Chicago.He has presented his research and lectured on these topics both nationally and internationally. He is President of the American Association for Emergency Psychiatry and a board member of American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the. He is the chief editor of the Behavioral Emergencies for Emergency Physicians textbook and course director for the past six years for the National Update on Behavioral Emergencies conference.

Biography
Mélanie Bérubé is a PhD candidate at McGill University. She completed an acute care post-master’s nurse practitioner diploma at the University of Toronto and a master’s degree at the Université de Montréal. Ms. Bérubé has work as an advanced practice nurse in orthopaedics and trauma for 5 years and a clinical nurse specialist in the fields of trauma and critical care for 10 years. She currently holds the positions of trauma coordinator and research coordinator for the Department of Nursing at the Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montreal, a level one trauma center. Her research interest is the prevention of adverse events in trauma including the acute to chronic pain transition.
